December Radar Roundup

My December radar products included; a disappointing pencil from a much-loved brand, yet another oil that doesn’t make the Moroccanoil standard, and a bunch of new favourites…

December

  1. Avon BB+ Anew Ultimate Sheer Tint Beauty Balm SPF20. I loved this BB Cream! It left my skin looking radiant and fresh. But if you are looking for a bit of coverage, this isn’t for you. The skin benefits cannot be denied, but the coverage is light at best.
  2. Schwarzkopf BC Hair Care Oil Miracle Light Finishing Treatment. Ok, so I’ll put it out there now – this is not as good as Moroccanoil. It made my hair soft and silky, but didn’t nourish my hair as well as I’d like and it hardly made any impact at al on my frizz. If you have super fine hair that needs a bit of shine, though, this will work a treat.
  3. Rodial Dragon’s Blood Sculpting Gel. Fabulous! The formula was nourishing, but not thick or sticky. After a month, it’s left my skin smoother, firmer and noticeably plumper. Rodial is fast becoming my new favourite skincare brand!
  4. ImPress Press On Manicure in Mystery Mood. Quite possible the best things sliced sliced bread. These nails go on in minutes and last for days. No drying time, no messy removal, just simple on and off, with comfortable wear in between. I’m testing the Elegant Touch versions in January – they have big boots to fill.
  5. Australian Gold Exotic Blend SPF30 Spray Gel Sunscreen with Instant Bronzer. If the Elizabeth Arden Nighttime Moisturser wasn’t on this list, this would have been the find of the month. Brilliant SPF protection combined with instant bronzer (that doesn’t smell like burnt toast) so you have a bit of colour before you even leave the house.
  6. Creighton’s Cherry and Wild Fig Sensual Bath and Body. This was as delicious as expected. I had a difficult time not drinking it! And, unlike many bath products, it doesn’t leave the skin dry and a bit lack luster – it hydrated and nourished like a body cream.
  7. The Body Shop Colour Crush Lipstick in Pink Luxe. Great pigment, check. Longwearing formula, check. Smells likes roses, check. This lippie from Body Shop really is priceless.
  8. Physicians Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Shadow + Liner in Classic Nude Eyes. When I posted the radar post last month I asked; “Isn’t this just the most perfect nude palette you’ve ever seen?” And I can now safely say that, yes, yes it is the most perfect nude palette.
  9. Bourjois Contour Clubbing Waterproof Eyeliner in Dynamint. This was sadly a bit ‘meh’. The colour looks fabulous, but the formula left me wanting. Wanting more colour payoff, wanting a more blendability and wanting more ‘waterproof’ than what I got.
  10. Creighton’s Argan Body Cream. This was the second Creighton’s product I tested last month, and I loved this one even more than the first. This formula is so incredibly soft and deeply moisturising. Most other argan body creams I’ve tried have left my skin sticky and looking greasy. This one absorbed instantly and kept the skin hydrated all day.
  11. Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Skin Protectant Nighttime Miracle Moisturizer. If I’m honest, I knew I didn’t need to ‘test’ this to know that I’d adore it. Sadly, my job means I have to test other products, but when I don’t have other products on the go, there will not be a night that this will not be on my face. I have never been so happy to have dry skin – it means I can use this as often as I want. Those of you with normal or combination skin will love this too, but maybe stick to using it a few nights a week. Winner!
