Get the look with Red Square

Red Square sent me this a little while ago, and thought you girls might want to see it for a little makeup inspiration.

For this season, our inspiration comes from the fashion pros with great make-up looks worn on the Spring/Summer 2015 catwalks. Think classic fine lines, subtle purple shadows to the eyes, and gentle sun-kissed skin that will have you reminiscing of carefree days and long balmy nights. What’s better? You can shop these looks online now here.

Our simple how-to steps show you how to recreate these 3 key trends this season!
Trend 1: Fine Lines
Liquid liner is a trend so classic it will never go out of style. This season, it’s blacker than before, precise and clean. Plus, you get to choose the extent of the flick! We love to pair this look with dewy skin and a rosy pout.

Step 1: Bare it all or apply a dewy foundation or BB Cream to give off that summertime glow!
Step 2: In keeping with the rosy feel, sweep one or two of the lighter shades of shadow from the Catrice Absolute Rose Eyeshadow Palette (R89,95) across the entire eyelid. You can also apply a drop of the shadow underneath your bottom lash line.
Step 3: Using Benefit They’re Real Push-up eyeliner in black (R295) or Bobbi Brown Ink Liner in Blackest Black (R345), carefully line the top lid as close to your lash line as possible, starting from the inner corner and working your way out. Extend your line ever so slightly to the outer corner of your eye giving it a precise flick to finish.
Step 4: What would eyes be without a coating or two of mascara? Apply two coats of Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero Smudge Volume & Lift Mascara (R345) or Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Mascara R220 to make your liner pop even more.
Step 5: Keep with the dewy, summer glow and make use of a soft blush such as the  cream to powder GOSH Giant Blush in Shy (R145) or Smashbox Baked Fusion Soft Lights Blush (R390).
Step 6: Complete this look with a pink hue to the lips. Try Smashbox Be Legendary Matte Lipstick in Pink Cadillac or Rosette (R260) or Clarins Rouge Eclat in Petal Pink (R270).
Tip: Opt for smudge-free or waterproof mascara for the warmer season, as you know you won’t have to worry about it moving!
Trend 2: Purple Haze
This season, we cross the colour spectrum and play around with shades of purple. From lilac to lavender, to moody orchid that was seen at Vera Wang – this shade is hot! Dare to wear it at night instead of your browns and greys, with a slick of shine to the lips and be the talk of the town.  This is by far the quickest trend to try!

Step 1: Decide how deep of a purple you are prepared to wear on your eyes! With 4 shade options in the Lancôme Hypnôse Drama Eye Shadow palette in RefletD’Améthyste (R685), gently sweep your chosen shade over your entire eyelid, carrying the shade under your bottom lash line too. If you feel this is too much, then just stick to colour on top.
Step 2: Mix light and dark for a 3D effect. Try layering some Essence 3D Lavender Taupe Eyeshadow (R53,95) on your lids too.
Step3: If you opt to go all out, we love using the lightest shade in the Clinique AllAbout Shadow Quads in Going Steady (R495) as a highlighter for the inner corners of the eye. You can use the same shade to highlight your brow bone too!
Step 4: No need for eyeliner, coat your top lashes only with some black mascara, such as CK One Mascara (R225).
Step 5: You don’t want to draw attention away from your eyes. Finish off this purple hazy look with a nude lip. Try GOSH Forever Lip Shine in Sweet Moments (R105) or Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey (R145).
Tip: Take this look from day to night by layering your lighter choice with the deeper shades of purple. You can even apply purple mascara if you’re going to be dancing the night away!

Trend 3: Sun-kissed Skin
The look you’re going for is the one where you look and feel like you’ve just returned from an island getaway with your best bunch of girl friends. It’s the “no effort” – “I just woke up like this” look! Michael Kors and Ralph Lauren got it so right this season. Here’s how to re-create this glow:

Step 1: Minimise the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and create the perfect canvas, so you don’t have to apply much more. The Clarins Instant SmoothPerfecting Touch (R375) does just that.
Step 2: Because we want the “no make-up look”, apply a foundation that is ever so light, like the Essence Soft & Natural Make-up (R63,50).
Step 3: Now that you have your perfect skin, it’s time to bronze it up. Bobbi BrownBronzing Powder (R525) will instantly warm up your complexion when applied to the skin.
Step 4: Give your skin that exquisite healthy glow by gently dabbing Benefit GirlMeets Pearl (R375) soft, golden-pink liquid luminizer onto your cheekbones.
Step 5: Nothing shouts out summer more than a gorgeous sun-kissed décolletage and beaming shoulders. Dust GOSH Precious Powder pearls in Glow (R155) onto these areas as well as your face, to complete your look.
Tip: When applying powder bronzer, remember to tap off the excess product from the brush first before applying. Less is more!
