Best of last year (skin, body & hair)

I did my 2015 make-up favourites a few weeks ago, and now I’ve finally gotten round to telling you about the best of last year in skincare, body care and haircare.

Wipes: Johnson’s Face Care Daily Essentials Extra Sensitive Facial Cleansing Wipes. These came out top when I did my battle of the wipes, and they’re still number 1 for me. They remove all traces of makeup (including waterproof mascara) in a flash. They leave the skin feeling clean and soft. I use them as a pre cleanse before my cleanser.

Oil Cleanser: Lipidol Oil Cleanser. One of the best finds of last year. This oil cleanser removes all traces of makeup, leaving my skin feeling fresh and clean.

Cream Cleanser: Rodial Super-Food Cleanser. This is my go-to winter cleanser. It’s rich cream formula removes makeup easily and leaves my skin feeling super hydrated.

Eye Cream: Clarins Extra Firming Eye Lift Perfecting Serum. They say dynamite comes in small packages, and this is no exception. It targets fine lines, wrinkles, puffiness and dark circles.

Night Serum: optiphi Intense Retinol Infinity Serum. Simple the best retinol product I’ve ever used, and I feel it may be a while before anything matches up to it.

Night Treatment: Avene D-Pigment Rich Dark Spot Corrector. Perfect for light pigmentation. It worked quickly and without drying out my skin.

Day Serum: optiphi Intense HA Infinity Serum. A super boost for super dry skin! Hyaluronic acid hold up to 1000 times its weight in water, which means it will keep your skin hydrated for hours and hours.

Day Cream: Noreva Actipur Anti-Imperfections Day Treatment. I struggle the occasional hormonal spot outbreak, and nothing works as well as this cream at zapping them.

Sun Cream: Clarins UV Plus Anti-Pollution Sunscreen SPF50. I’ve used this for years! It works well under makeup and the anti-pollution complex is a must have for city dwellers.

Clay Masque: Glam Glow Supermud Clearing Treatment. Loved by many a supermodel for fashion week season, this mask will clear out your pores in no time!

Overnight Mask: Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask. The most nourishing, comforting and hydrating overnight mask on the market.

Body Wash: LUSH Grass Shower Gel. A wheat grass scented shower gel may not sound appealing, but it wakes me up and revives my senses for the day. It’s also a wonderful substitute for shaving cream.

Soap: Anything from Nesti Dante. Seriously, anything. I adore these finely milled soaps for their subtle scents and skin nourishing properties.

Moisturiser: Environ Derma-Lac Lotion. My friend, Leigh from Lipgloss is my Life recommended this to me for my ingrown hair issue on my legs. It contains mild exfoliating acids that gently exfoliate the skin, revealing soft, smooth skin underneath. It’s completely healed my legs and cannot imagine a day without it.

Deodorant: Nivea Anti-Perspirant Invisible for Black & White. I have used this for years. It has a very subtle scent and protects my clothes from nasty deo stains.

Perfume: Giorgio Armani Si EDT. Fruity, floral and not at all sweet. This is just a dream of a fragrance!

Sun Protection: Piz Buin Wet Skin Transparent Spray SPF30. Let’s be honest, who wouldn’t love a sunscreen that you can apply to wet skin? It’s the best thing since sliced bread. I took this with me to Asia last year, and I didn’t burn once!

All-Rounder: Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream. I’m not even going to comment on this – you all know that my life wouldn’t be complete without Eight Hour Cream!

Shampoo: Moroccanoil Smoothing Shampoo. The fight against frizz continued last year with Moroccanoil’s launch of their Smooth collection. The shampoo and conditioner leave my hair smooth, silky and surprisingly manageable.

Conditioner: Moroccanoil Smoothing Conditioner. See above.

Treatment: Moroccanoil Treatment Light. I think this my 7th or 8th year of using this oil, and I won’t be stopping anytime soon.

Brush: Tangle Teezer Styler Original. There isn’t a knot that this clever brush cannot beat. I use it on wet hair, and never have to tug or pull.

Styling Brush: Veaudry MyEasyComb. This launch changed the way I blow dry my hair. Most people struggle with getting the tension correct when they’re blow drying their hair, but this makes it a doddle.

Heat Styling Treatment: ghd Style Curl Hold Spray. I love an all-in-one, and this spray contains curl holding properties as well as heat protection. Clever!

Styling Treatment: Davines More Inside Sea Salt Spray. Everyone loves beachy waves, but most don’t love the crispy feel of sea salt sprays, This one gives you’re the waves without the crunch.

Best Tool: ghd Creative Curl Wand. Curling my hair has never been easier than with my ghd Creative Curl Wand. I hardly ever used to curl my hair (I’m talking once a year), but have been using this wand at least once a week since I got.
