Once again the Chanel Makeup Creation Studio has us in the southern hemisphere lusting after summer.
The new limited edition Dans la Lumière de L’été collection (launching today) is made up of glimmering earthy hues, dappled with hints of corals and pinks. Think desert island chic – and in a way only Chanel could execute.
I’ve done a snapshot of the entire collection and the pricing at the bottom of this post, but here are my three favourite products.
The Empreinte du Desert Eyeshdaow Quad is a set of four bronzy shades, highlighted with a pop of emerald green. The formula is incredible – delivering an almost wet-look finish. The texture is silky, blendable and richly pigmented, and although I’d call the effect pearly, it is easy to work with and is flattering rather than garish.
I’ve read mixed reviews on the Duo Les Beiges Health Glow Multi-Colour in No. 02, but I personally love this palettes. Unlike some people, I find them very blendable and natural looking on the skin. This colour way works particularly well on my skin tone, giving it a healthy, natural glow.
The last product I tried was the Chanel Aqua Glossimer in Tanami. These glosses are noticeably lighter in texture than the last launches – almost like jelly. The colour payoff is more semi-sheer than opaque, but pretty nevertheless, and I like the fact that they opted for no shimmer in this version.
