It will hardly be news to you that the pint sized pop princess has launched another fragrance, Private Show. (This will be her 20th).
But what might be news to you is that this is one that is wearable by people over the age of 12.
Yes, it comes in a typical Britney bright pink, sparkling box with a picture of her dousing herself in it on the back, but (and it’s a big but), the bottle is gorgeous and the juice itself is very different to the sickly sweet, tween targeted scents of her past.
If you read about it online, it doesn’t bode well, with her inspiration for the scent being credited to her love of dulce de leche, iced coffee and white flowers. It just sounds like a sweet, sweet nightmare. But somehow, they’ve made it work. You can pick up notes of all three, but in a delicate way.
The top note is a bizarre mix of clementine, nectarine, coffee and whipped cream. This gives way to a sweet floral heart of jasmine sambac, orange blossom and dulce de leche, before finishing on a very gown up note of musk and amber.
I think it’s that rich base note that makes it so wearable. It settles down to a comforting scent that reminds me a bit of Calvin Klein Euphoria.
Private Show is available in 30ml EDP (R465), 50ml EDP (R565) and a limited edition 100ml EDP (R665 – which may still be available in some stores).
To celebrate the launch of her 20th fragrance, I have two bottles of 50ml EDP to giveaway to two lucky readers.
