I’ve always had a love for men’s fragrances. And not only on men, on myself.
It all started with a n encounter with Crabtree & Evelyn’s West Indian Lime Cologne, favoured by none other than Prince Charles. Now I love ol’ Charles, but not for a minute did I think I would adore the same fragrance.
I think it’s because I’m not a fan of overtly sweet or sickly fruity scents, which women’s fragrances tend to be. Men’s, on the other hand, tend to lend towards the fresh citrus and woody scene, which is a far more pleasant place for me in the olfactory sense.
Chanel Bleu and almost every Azzaro male fragrance are other that have a happy home in my fragrance collection, as well as a very recent addition in the form of L’Occitane L’Homme Cologne Cedrat.
Oh my goodness, what a gem! The PR very kindly sent it to me for possible inclusion in a male Valentine’s gift type post, but no, here we are. The top notes of water essence, mint and citron are good enough to eat before giving way to the jam-packed heart of lavender, violet leaf, black and pink pepper and ginger (sounds like a Thai recipe). The base is a rich accord of cedar, musk and amber.
If you’re a male scent wearing kind of girl, can I suggest you give this one a go? And, I suppose if you aren’t and wanted to spoil a special man in your life this Valentine’s day, that would be ok, too.
