New in from Maybelline

Maybelline have been on a launching spree this year, and are showing now sign of slowing down.

These are my four favourite launches from the brand over the last few months. There will be more of this coming, so if you’re a Maybelline fan, keen an eye out for those posts.

Maybelline Blush

First up is the Facestudio Master Blush (R99.95). There is more to this blush than its swanky packaging. The finely milled, silky smooth formula blends seamlessly into the skin and offers all day colour. It is available in 5 shades, ranging from soft peach through to rich brown and bright pink

Maybelline Mascara

Next is a new mascara launch in the form of Push-Up Drama Mascara (R149.95). Still highly unimpressed with the discontinuation of Illegal Length, I wasn’t overly excited about this, but I’ve been converted. The formula is deeply pigmented and does a decent job at lifting and volumising the lashes. The brush is good, too, enabling you to reach every lash with ease. It is available in black and brown.

Maybelline Vivid Matte

The Color Sensational Vivid Matte Gloss (R109.95) got the biggest response in the room at the launch. I’ve yet to find another gloss so richly pigmented. It looks like thick fruit syrup on the lips and is far more comfortable on the lips than most matte glosses. It doesn’t last hours and hours, but I don’t expect a gloss to anyway. But it does fade evenly, leaving a subtle stain behind. It is available in 8 summer-prefect shades.

Maybelline Lipstick

Lastly, I have to mention the Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipsticks (R124.95). They are exactly what they say they are – creamy, yet beautifully matte. They don’t last quite as long as some other versions available on the market, but the comfort level far outweighs the longevity factor. It feels almost like a balm, but delivers rich, even colour.

If you love the look of matte, but hate the feeling, these might just be the answer. It is available in 6 shades.
