Festive Fragrance: John Varvatos Artisan Blu

Peeps, it’s DECEMBER! 11 months of 2017 are gone. 11!

It’s unbelievable how fast the year has gone, but it does mean that it’s time for all things Christmassy, and today is the first of many festive posts. This year, I’ve decided to do some gift guides, as well as doing posts focussed on fragrances that I think will make fantastic gifts for those you want to really spoil. So let’s get going…

I am craving a (wind-free) beach and warm water so badly this week. Cape Town at this time of year can be quite cruel – warm, but the South Easter makes you want to commit harakiri. I just want to be wallowing in the Med, as I’m sure we all do.

But as the Med is currently freezing, we’ll have to wait for the wind to stop, and immerse ourselves in the new John Varvatos Artisan Blu scent instead. I realise it’s a ‘male’ fragrance, but, trust me; there will be plenty of you girls who will want this for yourselves, too.

Fresh tops notes of bitter orange, bergamot, chayote, basil and lavender give way to a surprisingly floral heart of clary sage, geranium, iris, palmarosa and orange blossom before finally settling on a rich base of parasol pine, tamarisk, pistachio, cedarwood, patchouli and a hint of tree resin.

Sound too good not to get your hands on? You’ll find it in 125ml (R1395) and 75ml (R1195) at selected Edgars, Red Square and Foschini stores nationwide.
