New in from Max Factor
Max Factor mascaras are some of the best, but there is more to the brand than great lashes. They recently sent me some of their new launches to test out (and only one is a mascara).
The Smooth Miracle Primer (R239.95) is basically Photoshop in a tube. It evens out the skin tone, hides pores and creates a subtle glow. It creates the perfect base for foundation, making for easy application and makes any formula last all day. I’ve tested it with light all the way through to full coverage, and it works wonderfully with all.
The False Lash Epic Mascara in Black (R205.95) has the scariest brush I’ve ever seen, but make no mistake, not a single lash is left uncoated. The medieval-looking bulb at the end allows you to target the short lashes in the corners of your eyes. The formula isn’t waterproof, but lasts all day.
Masterpiece High Precision Liquid Eyeliner in Charcoal and Sapphire (R195.95) Good grief, these are INCREDIBLE! The nib is long and rounded, rather than pointed, but is so saturated that it feels like you’re applying one of those paint pens to your eyes. It deposits solid, even colour in one stroke, and lasts all day. I am obsessed!
The Eyefinity Smoky Eye Pencil in Black Charcoal and Brushed Copper (R169.95) is clever concept. It is a dual-ended pencil with different shades, so you can either use each just as liner, or use the lighter shade as a shadow (the formula is soft enough to blend), and the darker one to define. Great to just have in your handbag, should the need arrive to glam yourself up a bit, and you don’t have time to do a full smoky eye.
