Bio-Oil has just launched a groundbreaking product that promises to banish dry skin for good.
Most treatments for dry skin are formulated with water (some of them are up to 70% water), but the problem with water is that it evaporates, which is useless in the fight against dryness.
Bio-Oil has taken this problem and come up with an ingenious solution in the form of a waterless formula in the Bio-Oil Dry Skin Gel. The result is deep, completely hydration with serious longevity. This longevity means that, with prolonged use, you skin is more and more hydrated.
The results of a clinical trial carried out on the product by Stephens & Associate in the States were all very impressive, but how do you test it on yourself? Well, pretty much all moisturising body creams instantly hydrate, so the only thing to compare is how it feels on the skin during and after application. It got full marks here because, considering the ingredients, I was expecting some stickiness, but there was none at all!
But the difference I noticed came a few weeks after daily use of the Dry Skin Gel when I forgot to apply one morning, and my skin looked and felt as if I had. This may not sound too groundbreaking for some of you, but my skin on my arms and legs in spring and autumn is so reptilian you could pop me into a vivarium and charge people to stare. So having skin that looked like I’d applied moisturiser when I hadn’t really was impressive! If you suffer with dry skin, then this is definitely worth a try!
You’ll find it at leading retailers in 50ml (R60), 100ml (R110) and 200ml (R185), although I see it currently on sale over on the Di-Chem site here.
