Barrier Protection

Quite a few of my friends are seriously battling dry skin from this crazy weather in Cape Town.

If you are going to be outside in very cold weather, your usual moisturizer is just not going to cut it. Instead opt for something called a barrier cream. This literally means that it creates a ‘barrier’ over your skin to protect it from extreme weather (it also works in extreme heat).

My favourite is Nimue’s Element Barrier, R345. It delivers long-lasting hydration and UV (both A and B) protection. It does so by reinforcing your skins’ own barrier, its membranes as well as cell DNA.
