Vichy Capital Soleil news
Vichy Capital Soleil introduces a whole new look, with a local face to match.
The highly talented lawyer, model, activist and award winner, Thando Hopa has joined the brand as its first local sun ambassador.
I think this is one of the best brand/face pairings I’ve ever seen. Who better to highlight the importance of sun protection than a person with albinism? Thando takes protecting and caring for her skin very seriously, and I think is a great role model for young South Africans to learn about sun protection as well as over coming prejudice.
Thando is a successful prosecutor at the National Prosecuting Authority and ventured into modelling after being spotted and approached by designer Gert-Johan Coetzee in a mall. She became the face of his Spring/Summer Collection in 2012 and has been collaborating with him ever since.
She is elegant, bright, well-spoken, articulate and personifies overcoming obstacles with grace. Taking care of her skin has been part of her life since she was a little girl. A parasol is her accessory of choice, and the Vichy hydrating milk SPF50 a crucial part of her beauty and health regime.
In September 2012, Thando was introduced to the fashion world during SA Fashion Week. This was front page news and opened up a public conversation about albinism, prejudice and beauty. Subsequently Thando was involved in showcasing GJC SAFW collections dedicated to social causes, from taking a stand for women victims of violence to breast-cancer awareness, and most recently paying tribute to our late icon Nelson Mandela.
Here is the Vichy Capital Soleil line up for this season. Prices range from R220 to R399.
