Friday Five: Weekend Getaway

I’m off for a weekend getaway up the Garden Route this weekend, so thought I’d share 5 products I always pack for short breaks.

Weekend Getaway

Optiphi 2-in-1 Facial Cleanser & Moisture Control Light

Optiphi 2-in-1 Facial Cleanser & Moisture Control Light

I’m not sure there’s ever been a cleverer travel product. This tube is dual sided, with two pumps. This means you get your cleanser and moisturiser in one. Space-saving genius at it’s best!

SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF50

SkinCeuticals Physical Fusion UV Defense SPF50

Obviously I adore this 100% physical sunscreen. It’s water-resistant and transparent (no white, pasty residue here). It also contains a sheer, universal tint that evens out skin tone and gives the complexion a little radiance boost.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream

Yes, this is a no-brainer. I never leave the house without it, so stands to reason I’d never go away without a tube of it. While I’m away I use it as a cuticle treatment and to tame my brows, as well as to soothe any cuts and insect bites.

Caroline Herrera 212

Carolina Herrera 212

There are many incarnations of this fragrance, but the original is my favourite weekend scent. It’s a light floral that works well during the day without being overpowering, and the musk base notes makes it great for the evening too. The packaging looks like one bottle, but it’s actually two 30ml bottles, which are the perfect size for travelling.

Inglot Freedom System Palette

Inglot Freedom System Palette

These are the ultimate DIY palettes, as you can choose what ever you want to add. Mine has a concealer, a lipstick and three neutral eye shadows. I use the lipstick as a blush too, so this one palette is all I need to take with me to do my whole face.
