My most used Real Techniques brushes

I adore my Real Techniques brushes. Yes they may not “last quite as long” as the higher end ones, but they are a fraction of the price and work just as well, if not better. Sam & Nic Chapman

The brand is the brainchild of Sam and Nic Chapman, makeup obsessed sisters, who came up this idea of Real Techniques after they were struggling to find cruelty free brushes to use on their hugely popular YouTube channel, Pixiwoo.

I have quite a few in my collection, but these three are the ones I reach for the most.

Real Techniques Expert Face Brush

The Expert Face Brush has broad and firm bristles, making it ideal for blending cream or liquid foundation. But I use it for all types of blending – from concealer, to highlighter and bronzer. The shorter bristles also mean it’s very easy to clean, too.

Real Techniques Blush Brush

My Blush Brush is the latest addition to my collection. It took me a long time to get it because I had an amazing Dior blush brush that I’d had for 12 years. Yes, 12, and I used it every day. But eventually the bristle fall out got out of control. I’m happy to report that the RT one works just as well. It delivers smooth and even blush application, and makes blending a breeze. The contour of the brush means it works well for all blush textures. I’ve used it for powder, cream and gel formulas, and all applications were flawless.

Real Techniques Setting Brush

The Setting Brush was designed for, well, setting. It does a great job at applying loose powder under the eyes, but my favourite use it to blend concealer. The shape of the brush makes it perfect for around the nose, too.
