TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Shampoo & Conditioner, R96.95

What they say: Volume seekers tired of being left with stiff, crunchy hair can rejoice thanks to this revolutionary reverse wash system! TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume is rewriting the rules of voluminous hair by reversing the traditional haircare routine. Condition FIRST to soften hair, then shampoo to wash away weight. Your hair is left hair smooth and polished, but still full of bounce. Who says you can’t have it all?

Using conditioner after you shampoo can weigh hair down and leave it flat. TRESemmé Beauty-Full Volume Reverse System is a game-changing regimen that gives your hair amazing body and bounce. Condition first to soften, and then shampoo to wash away the weight.

What they say: Okay, so let me first admit that I have never really been a use TRESemmé fan. I always find their products aggravate my scalp and (ironically) weigh my hair down, regardless of which variant I use.

So, when this landed on my desk with claims of ‘rewriting the rules of voluminous hair’, I knew I had to give it a go. I have to say that I did do a massive eye roll at the whole reverse cleansing idea, as many brands have tried before and failed hopelessly. But then I read my bestie, Leigh’s review here, and thought that if Little Miss Skeptical (she’s worse than me) was impressed it was definitely worth a try.

And guys…WOW! I was super impressed. You apply the conditioner first, wait a minute, and then rinse before shampooing as usual. The conditioner felt strange, and I thought I was going to end up having to rewash my hair with my regular shampoo and conditioner, but I persevered.

Afterwards my hair felt clean and soft (not all what I was excepting), and once it dried, it was bouncy, frizz-free and VOLUMOUS! I still applied a few drops of Moroccanoil Light and let it air dry, as I wanted to test it against my regular routine for a true comparison.

I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, and I have had to use a clarifying shampoo to help my scalp, but only twice, which is much, much better than another other TRESemmé experience I’ve had before.

So if you have fine hair like me, I reckon this is well worth a try! There are also two styling products that you can add onto the end if you want to boost the volume even more; there’s the leave-in Hair Maximizer Cream that you apply before blow drying, as well as the Touchable Bounce Mousse if you prefer a mousse texture to the cream. I haven’t tried the styling products yet, so if you have let me know what you think of them.
