Winter lip balms

I don’t know about the rest of you, but the second the weather gets cooler, my lips get dry, flaky and sore. After many years of testing and trialing, I have a comprehensive list of lip balms and serums that will keep you lips soft and supple this winter.

THE CLASSIC

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant Stick SPF15 (R220)

The iconic Eight Hour Cream formula in a stick version is my go-to throughout the year. It absorbs well and works under lipstick and gloss.

THE SKINCARE PEDIGREE

Optiphi Active Lip Formula (R415)

This has a thicker formula than most and really feels like a balm on the lips. It’s not only rich and repairs at a cellular level.

THE ONE FOR COLDS AND FLU

Letibalm Repair Balm (R75)

This is the most medicinal-feeling of the 6. It tingles a bit when you put it on, but it quickly dies down, leaving your lips soft and supple. It repairs and soothes dry noses, too!

THE REPAIRING FORMULA

La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Lèvres (R110)

A beauty blogger cult favourite for a reason, this formula repair and protects, leaving a subtle sheen on the lips.

THE INSTANT HYDRATOR

Bioderma Atoderm Lèvres Restorative Lip Balm (R140)

Has a slightly greasy feeling, but in a comforting way. It literally feels like a liquid balm on the lips but without any stickiness.

THE OVERNIGHT TREATMENT

Blistex Conditioning Lip Serum (R120)

This is the newest addition ton my collection, and I’ve used it every night for about 2 months for general lip maintenance.
