Kokorico!
The sounds of distant drums and stamping feet are the sound track to Jean Paul Gaultier’s latest fragrance, Kokorico.
Believe it or not, Kokorico is French for ‘cock-a-doodle-doo’! The roosters’ cry is symbolic for men to call-out their victory cry by wearing this new scent… All tres bizarre, but we wouldn’t expect anything less from JPG.
The bottle represents a ‘masculine plural’ of the Gualtier man. He can be both naughty and nice, and the bottle reflects this. The first shape you see is one of a strong character, but turn the bottle to the side, and you’ll see the traditional metro version of the male figure from previous JPG fragrances.
The juice is a complex spicy scent comprising classic male notes with a JPG twist. Patchouli, vetiver and cedar are joined by fig leaf and cocoa to deliver a olfactory masterpiece.
To add to the flamboyance, JPG chose basque model, Jon Kortajarena as the face of the fragrance, and the final flourish comes in the form of a dramatic flamenco dance. See the video here.
Kokorico is available in 50ml EDT, R595; 100ml EDT, R810; Aftershave Lotion, R580; Aftershave Balm, R455; Shower Gel, R510 and Deo Stick, R360.
