February Radar Round-up
I had mixed emotions on my February radar products, but Filorga came out tops!
- I am just in LOVE with the Avon brushes. They are just amazing – I’ve used them everyday for the last month.
- I wasn’t overly impressed with the Gatineau Collagene Expert Smoothing Eye Concentrate, R595. It was a great moisturiser for around they eyes, but I haven’t seen any improvement in my fine lines. It also doesn’t work well with my sunscreen – it peels and lifts.
- Sadly Redken Diamond Oil Shatterproof Shine Intense, R485, does not live up to Moroccanoil for me. It isn’t bad, but I still feel that Moroccanoil penetrates better and leaves my hair softer.
- The Lancôme 24Hr Artliner Bold Color Precision Eyeliner in Jade, R305 is something we should all own. It makes creating fine lines as easy as pie.
- Catrice Re-Touch Light-Perfecting Concealer in Porcelain, R54.95 is great too. It lifts the eye area – even when you’ve only had 2 hours sleep (voice of experience).
- Filorga UV-Defence SPF50+ Anti-Ageing, Anti-brown Spot Sun Care, R575. Hurrah! It plays well with all my other skin care products. It absorbs quickly, and doesn’t leave any white ghosting. Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant – my favourite find of the month.
- optiphi 2-in-1 Facial Cleanser and Protecting Revitalizer, R690 is one of the most useful product launches I’ve seen in a while. My skin adapted well to this, and I’ll be taking one with me whenever I travel.
- Avon Ideal Flawless BB Skin Loving Beauty Balm SPF15 in Shell, R180 measured up well against my holy grail of BBs, Garnier. It doesn’t blend as well as the Garnier one, but is a pretty close second on the BB index for me.
- Sisley Botanical D-Tox Detoxifying Night Treatment for All Skin Types, R1900 lived up to all expectations again. It managed to sort-out my troublesome skin. My complexion is brighter and clear. I love this product and will keep using it every change of season to keep my skin in line.
- Inhibitif Advanced Hair-Free Body Serum, R300. Hhhmm. Nothing to report here except that I lost A LOT of time applying this twice a day. I haven’t noticed any different in hair growth. I know it says to use it for 2 months to see a change, but to be perfectly honest, I just can’t be asked – I’d rather keep shaving – it takes less time.
- Tip Top Nail Chic Nail Polish in Astronaut (top) and In The Navy, R39.95 each. I’ve used Tip Top for years, and am never disappointed. The same goes for these two shades. I fear I may have a mild obsession with In The Navy…

Thank you for your comments on these products – I like your succinct way of expressing your experience with products. I’m curious about the prices of the Avon brushes, tho’, so if you can price these, I’d be most grateful.
