Max Factor Skin Luminizer Foundation in Warm Almond, R209.95 (exclusive to Clicks)
What they say: Want coverage that enhances your skin rather than masking it? Try Skin Luminizer Foundation, which cleverly uses light-reflecting particles to create a gorgeous healthy-looking glow.
- Subtle skin luminizers are specially designed to reflect ‘warm’ light tones.
- Also contains a hydrator that helps improve skin’s condition to create a healthy glow from within.
- Medium coverage with a dewy finish.
- Handy pump dispenser
What I say: I’ve been looking for a medium coverage foundation for a while. It’s a tricky one, as I find that so many of them accentuate pores and leave my dry skin looking even drier.
What makes this one special is the hydrating ingredients they’ve added to help give the skin that healthy glow – after all, dry skin doesn’t glow.
The light reflectors are a bit of genius, too. The formula really does enhance the skin’s natural glow, without looking cakey or powdery.
It lasts all day, and doesn’t sit in wrinkles; instead it lightly covers and diffuses them. The pump is a good one. It dispenses just the right sized blob for a full face of coverage. Most pumps give you far too much for you to use in one go.
Take your time finding your colour match (there are 6 shades), as the colours tend to look pinker in the bottle than they do on the skin. I think this has something to do with the reflective particles. In the end I’ve gone for the Warm Almond shade for now, but think I’ll have to change over to the Sand shade later in the year.
