High street lip treats

High street lip treats to keep them soft and supple this season.

Lips

You needn’t spend a fortune on lip balms; cheaper ones can work just as well as high end ones. These are my current five faves.

Medex

Blistex Medex, R80, is the most expensive, but probably the most effective. I’ve been using this for years. I apply it at night before I go to sleep.

Baby Lips

Maybelline Baby Lips Dr Rescue in Coral Crave, R35, is a great 2-in-1; it protects the lips while delivering a subtle hint of colour.

Eucerin

Eucerin Intensive Lip Balm, R58, is just what it says. If your lips are already chapped, a few applications of this will soothe and repair them.

Labello

Labello Vanilla and Macadamia Lip Butter, R30, has a great texture. It feels rich and comforting on the lips, like a body butter for the lips.

OSH

Oh So Heavenly Love Your Lips Cupcake Kisses Vanilla Cupcake Bubble Balm, R30 (exclusive to Clicks), is a dead ringer for another much hyped about balm. As much as I liked the EOS balm, I don’t feel it’s worth the price tag; the packaging is cute, but the formula didn’t blow me away. This local version is just as sweet, smells amazing and absorbs well, so is great for wearing under lipstick.
