{ Review } Placecol Collagen Reconstruct Facial
I’ve been wanting to tell you guys about a facial I tried a few weeks ago.
I popped down to Placecol at Canal Walk (I have to admit I’m not the biggest fan of having facials in malls, but I understand the convenience factor).
I had a Collagen Reconstruct Facial (R475), which is a pretty serious treatment that combines microdermabrasion with their Soft Laser technology. The facial itself was just like any other (pre cleanse, cleanse, mask etc), and I can’t really tell you how good those products are because I think that what really made the difference was the MDA laser.
Their MDA does the same thing as regular MDA, but uses a diamond head to exfoliate, rather than messy granules.
I am not going to try and explain the soft laser therapy, so read below from Placecol’s site to get the gist:
What is Soft Laser?
The Placecol Soft Laser® Cosmetic Therapy is a form of light therapy that is scientifically proven to ensure that you enjoy maximum benefit from your skin care treatments. By gently activating blood flow towards tissue, Soft Laser® improves circulation – reducing inflammation and assisting in deeper product penetration, improving the effectiveness of each treatment. |
What is Microdermabrasion?
This advanced treatment, which is a combination of Soft Laser® and Microdermabrasion, assists in age prevention and gives skin a healthy, youthful glow. The process employs fine crystals to gently buff and resurface the skin, removing tired surface cells and stimulating new cell production. Microdermabrasion assists in eliminating fine lines and wrinkles and improving the appearance of dehydrated and dull-looking skin, promoting a healthy, youthful skin tone. *This treatment is not recommended for hyper-sensitive skin. |
I didn’t find the treatment painful or uncomfortable, but I’ve had MDA before. If you’re unsure, you can ask your therapist to start on a low setting, and see how you go. As they recommend, you should stay away from this treatment if your skin is super sensitive, but my skin is very reactive and dealt with it just fine.
My skin was a tiny bit red after the treatment, but calmed-down after an hour or so, and in the days following, it seemed to glow more and more. A week later, it looked so amazing people were asking if I’d had a peel!
As each treatment can be designed to suit your particular skin, so you skin will get exactly what it needs. Visit their site for more info on their treatments.
