Today I’m going to be chatting about the four products that have kept my skin soft and healthy this winter.
As I’ve been pregnant this winter, they are technically my winter pregnancy must haves, but none of them are pregnancy exclusive and will fit into your routine regardless.
First up is Bio-Oil. Rich in botanicals and vitamins, this cult classic body oil is a must have for any pregnant woman, and works wonders for those who aren’t as well. It absorbs well and leaves the skin soft and supple. I started off using the Johnson’s Tissue Oil, as it has a lighter consistency than Bio-Oil, but once the weather turned colder, the weight of the Bio-Oil was better for my skin.
The Cetaphil Restoraderm Skin Restoring Body Moisturiser has been in my winter body care routine for years. It’s simple the best moisturiser I’ve ever used. My skin is dry, but in winter it takes it to a whole new level. Since I’ve been using this, I haven’t once had the itchy scaly legs that used to plague me in the past.
For regular readers of Rouge, Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream will come as absolutely no surprise. I use it every single day, and more so in winter. This year, as well as on any particularly dry spots and cuticles, I’ve been using it as a nipple cream to keep the poor things soft (they go through massive changes during pregnancy, and need all the help they can get).
And finally, Environ Derma-Lac Lotion is another long-standing favourite. I use this one my legs, as the gentle exfoliating action it provides keeps ingrown hairs at bay. I normally use it on my bikini line, too, but as it contains a low level of Vitamin A, I steered away from doing it this winter. It has an almost water-like consistency, but leaves your skin feeling seriously hydrated and smooth.
