A great new skin soother from optiphi

Our skin barrier is arguably the most important part of the organ, and we should be trying to keep it healthy at all costs. It’s our armour against the world.

But daily irritants are constantly trying to impair that barrier and sometime we just lose the fight. Sun burn (I hope none of you ever get it), eczema, psoriasis, insect bites, waxing – the list goes on and on.

optiphi has closed a gap in the market for an effective, almost immediate treatment for redness and irritation. The new optiphi Body Curve Calm Balm Soothing Skin Saver contains a host of active to soothe, calm and protect compromised skin.

Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) boosts collagen and calms the area, as well as targeting discolouration of the skin. Ectoin helps to protect the cells and soothes damaged skin, and is helped by L-Carnosine, a strong antioxidant. Opuntia Ficus-Indica extract acts to hydrate the skin, as most damaged skin needs hydration. And finally, Pentapeptide-59 reduces irritation and the sensation experienced on the skin.

The formula is more like a rich cream rather than a balm, but it forms an instant protective layer over the effected area and calms down any redness. I burnt myself on the stove last week, and applied this the next day. I applied twice a day for 4 days, and there is barely even a mark left. If you have an on-going skin condition, or you have kids, or you are clumsy like me, then you definitely need a tube of this in the house. It’s R1200 for a tube, but it’s 100ml, so will last you absolutely ages.
