At the moment is seems like we are being sold products simply for the sake of selling them.
Steps are being added to our skincare routines at an alarming rate and I’ve lost count of how many contouring, strobing, highlighting trends we should be on top of. Mostly because I’m past caring, but also, who has the time?
So hurrah for innovative multi-tasking products that do what it says on the box and make the morning routine just that little bit quicker and easier. The new Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Blush is a multi-purpose lip and cheek wand that makes you like like you’ve spent unnecessary hours perfecting your ‘no makeup’ makeup.
The formula is a hydrating waxy gel that delivers as much colour as you want (we’re not talking solid colour – it is a gel after all). You can build it up from totally natural to a more definite flush of colour.
Youthful is the word I keep coming back to when trying to describe the finish; matte on the cheeks and waxy and comfortable on the lips. The doe foot applicator hugs the lips perfectly, and simply dot it along the cheek bones to apply it as a blush.
Infused with mimosa, jojoba and sunflower seed oils, it could be a sticky mess, but any oil not absorbed after application simply disappears (I tested it).
The last thing in its favour is the price, R540 each. For less than what you’d pay for a regular Chanel lipstick, you can have lips and cheeks sorted, making it a great gateway product is you are new to the brand. It is, of course, also the perfect candidate for a handbag must have. There are 6 shades to choose from and you’ll find them at all Chanel counters now.
