First up, let me stress that these are glosses. I saw quite a few disappointed reviews online about the poor colour payoff, as I suspect that the colour in the tube is what people were expecting on their lips. It isn’t. You can layer for a more intense hue, but you aren’t going to get lipstick-like colour.

The press release describes the payoff as ‘adjustable-intensity and vibrant sheer colour with stain shine’, which is pretty accurate.

The ‘shaker’ bit comes from the fact that you have to shake the tube to combine the two main phases: oil (for nourishment and shine) and pigment (for colour).

They are available in 8 shades, with matching scents, making up the most playful lip lineup you’re likely to see this year, and they are on Lancôme counters now for R270 each.
