My second skincare find of the week is also local and is just as good as the last. This one, though, is more of an all-rounder and is great gateway product for those of you wanting to start using retinol.
The GR8 Skincare Reset Rebooting Night Serum (R370) has been designed to do exactly what it says on the tin – reboot your skin after a long day fighting free radicals.
The formula is a rich gel that contains an absolute host of actives to nourish your skin overnight. The most notable of which, are vitamin A and C to boost cellular turnover and stimulate collagen synthesis. These are supported by hyaluronic acid to hydrate, probiotics to reduce inflammation and extra antioxidants to offer free radical protection.
I applied it every second night (alternating with my full-strength retinol) to clean skin. The formula is a little sticky to start with, but absorbs after 5 minutes to leave the skin soft and supple I generally only use antioxidants during the day, but I think my skin has benefitted from the extra boost. My complexion is definitely brighter and my skin’s texture is smoother, even without additional exfoliators.
If you are wanting to starting delving into the world of retinol (you really should), this is the ideal product to start with as it’s gentle enough not to cause any irritation, but effective enough for you to see the results it can give you.
The GR8 Skincare range is concise and practical, and aimed at younger skins, but this product is great for all ages. You’ll find it at selected Dis-Chem stores as well as on the Gr8 Skincare website here.
