Lamelle Correctives HA+ Serum

Those of us with dry skin all love hyaluronic acid. But with all ingredients, not all hyaluronic acid is created equal.

It’s the gold standard for skin hydration. This is thanks to its ability to hold 1000 times its own weight in water. It is naturally occurring in the body, so doesn’t have any side effects and won’t cause irritation. The sponge-like effect means that it will help your skin not only retain moisture, but will also plump fine lines and wrinkles. I’ve found this increasingly important as I get older, and this is because our skin loses its ability to retain moisture as we age.

The Lamelle Correctives HA+ Serum contains an incredible four skin-compatible types of hyaluronic acid. The first stays in the skin longer than the other for longer hydration, another helps to reduce water loss through the skin, the third penetrates further to hydrate on a deeper level. And the final sized molecule helps to maintain your skin’s natural hyaluronic acid levels, as well as helping to increase the production of fibroblasts (the connective tissue responsible for collagen production). It also contains Vitamin B5, which acts as a highly effective humectant that both attracts and holds water that it pulls from the air.

The formula comes in a turquoise opaque glass bottle with a dropper.  I understand why these types of formulas have to be housed in these bottles, but I really wish they could be put into airless pumps instead, as I find the droppers a little bit of a faff to apply. But it would never not use them because of it. 

I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, and can see a vast improvement in the hydration levels in my skin. My skin has been playing up over the last few months, and this has really helped to plump it and give it its glow back. I’ve been applying a few drops every morning and on the evenings I’m not using retinol. As with all hyaluronic acid serums, it’s best to apply a cream over the top to seal in the formula.
