Review | Clicks Beauty Box
Clicks sent me some new goodies to try over the holidays. I’ve been testing them all, so here are my mini reviews of them all.
Revolution X Roxi Roxxsaurus Rise or Die Palette (R250)

I’ve never tried Revolution eyeshadows before, and I’m happy to report they are good quality and great value for money – there are 18 shades in this palette, making each shade less than R14. There is minimal fall out, and the colours blend well. There are a mixture of mattes, shimmers and full-on glitters, ranging from classic neutrals to hot pink and emerald. My favourites shades are Cookie and Gingerbread.
Nyx Suede Matte Lipstick in Kitten Heels (R150)

I love Nyx Butter Gloss and Soft Matte Lip Cream, so I was fairly certain this was going to be a hit. The formula is soft, comfortable and not at all drying. The colour payoff is gorgeous and lasts all day.
Vitamasques Purifying Black Gold Dust and Moisturising Rose Gold Dust Sheet Masks (R50 each)

I liked these sheet masks – they are noticeable thinner than most and not drippy (if you know, you know). Both left my skin feeling refreshed and plump.
Hollister Festival Vibes For Her EDP 50ml (R545)

The fruity top notes are a bit too sweet for my liking, but the floral heart and rich base notes are. A fun, fresh summer scent1
Sukin Original Hydrating Mist Toner (R137)

I’d never heard of this natural Ozzie brand until this landed on my desk. Paraben and alcohol free, this hydrating toner with chamomile and rosewater revives hot, tired skin in a jiffy. I’ve been keeping mine in the fridge for an instant boost.
Sorbet Light Therapy Pen (R214)

This is the product I was most excited about. I’ve tried light therapy before, and think there is something in it. This small, hand-held device emits both blue and red light to reduce inflammation and kill acne-causing bacteria.
You simply hold it over a spot, turn on and leave until the 2-minute auto shut-off kicks in. It is painless and doesn’t leave any redness.
I’ve used it on a few hormonal spots, and it definitely decreased their lifespans.
Max Factor Lash Revival Mascara for Fuller, Longer, Stronger Lashes (R209)

Max Factor does some of the best high street mascaras, and this one is no exception. The densely packed curved wand catches every lash to create bold, full lashes.
Alma K Dead Sea Minerals Relax Purifying Mud Mask (R400)

Ok, so I liked this mask a lot, but I think that R400 for a mud mask is quite expensive. I know it’s Dead Sea mud, but mud is one of the cheapest skincare ingredients to produce. It didn’t dry-out my skin and left it balanced and smooth. So if you have the money, the give it a try, but otherwise try another of the Clicks brands instead.
Sorbet Salon Pro Moisturising Hand and Nail Treatment with Hyaluronic Acid (R55)

This is quite possibly the best hand cream I’ve tried in years. It’s super hydrating and absorbs quickly, leaving no greasy residue…as in I can apply it and start typing immediately.
Morfose Professional Change Colour Heat Activated Hair Spray Green – Blue (R199)

We tried this on the kids at the start of the holidays and went through the can so quickly because they wanted colour changing hair every day. It goes on green and after a few minutes in the sun, it turns blue.
Cacharel Yes I Am EDP 30ml (R585)

I adore this this scent – an oriental floral scent that will be my go-to during the cooler months.
It opens to a fruity top note of raspberry, mandarin, lemon and bergamot which gives way to a spicy heart note of ginger, rose, gardenia, jasmine, amber and orange blossom. The base is a rich and comforting note of cardamom, sandalwood, amber wood, caramel and coumarin, licorice and vanilla.
All of these are available at selected Clicks stores nationwide as well as online here.

The Cacherel perfume and the Sorbet hand cream seem like products I would like and I will give these a try.

Hi Jolene
Clicks sent it to me. It should be available in bigger Clicks stores.
It’s brand new, so should be filtering through now.
It isn’t online yet, but they have a much bigger one here.
Thanks,
Emmy
