Travels with my products (2)

The next installment of my product adventure…

  1. Johnson’s Face Care Daily Essentials Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes, R42.99 for 25 wipes and
  2. Nivea Daily Essentials Refreshing Facial Cleansing Wipes, R59.99 for 25 wipes. I took 2 packs of wipes because, let’s face it, you can never have too many wipes when traveling. Both removed makeup, cleaned hands, door handles etc, etc.
  3. Clicks Whitening Dental Floss, R29.99 for 5m. Well, it’s floss. I’m a crazy teeth person. I have a water pick and use it twice a day, every single day. As taking it with me was not an option, floss was a must. I have no idea how floss whitens your teeth, however.
  4. Elizabeth Arden Prevage Triple Defense Shield SPF50 Sunscreen, R485. These packaging designers deserve a medal – sunblock in a tube with a brush. It’s always the simple things! It kept my English skin well protected in all climates.
  5. Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Toner for All Skin Types 75ml, R129. I’m not a fan of toners at all, but used this one because the lovely Nina from Kiehls sent it to me, and she’s so fab I tried it just for her. I used it after the cleanser, and whether it worked or not, I don’t know, but my skin was on its best behavior most of the trip
  6. Clarins Daily Energizer Cream. This tube was part of a limited edition set, but it usually comes in a 30ml jar for R225. This is my everyday moisturizer that I use at home, so of course love it. It managed to keep my skin in check in all of the different climates I tortured it in.
  7. Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment, R259. An incredible rich and nourishing treatment infused with avocado oil to treat the delicate skin around your eyes. The first time I used it, I thought it was off because the consistency felt very strange. But after a quick Google, I discovered that it has been designed for a quick release of hydration. So it goes on feeling like a rich cream, but quickly heats-up and dissolves into what feels like water. It did wonders for my tired eyes!
  8. Elizabeth Arden Sun Stick, R165. This is great for boys who ‘hate cream’?!?! Not entirely sure what that means exactly, but friends say it’s not just mine who has this strange aversion. I don’t really care, as long as he applies sunblock, and this little stick ensured that. I would imagine it’s great for children with the same attitude – easier to swipe them with a stick than slather them in cream.
  9. Environ Original A Balancing Masque, R145. The only time my skin had a freak out was when we flew from 10 000ft in Ecuador to sea level in the Galapagos, and then back again a week later. Not even my Kiehls could fight this. This mask sorted it out. I applied it, and left it on over night.
  10. Kiehl’s Crème de Corps 75ml, R145. Think of the best feeling ever – sand between your toes, back massage – you get the point. Well, this is that feeling for your skin. It was the most incredible feeling to shower and apply this after a hard day hiking, swimming, diving or flying.
  11. Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser for All Skin Types 75ml, R129. A creamy cleanser is very good for travelling because it won’t dry-out already dehydrated skin. This one removed grime and makeup in one easy sweep.
