Stila Colour Balm Lipstick
Stila Colour Balm Lipstick, R210 (from selected Woolworths and Truworths stores)
What they say: A modern take on traditional lipstick, this creamy lip color provides the full pigment load of a lipstick, yet delivers the nourishing properties of a balm.
Featuring a luxe, satin finish, this formula offers excellent color payoff while phyto-derived emollient properties deliver hydrated, healthy lips. Naturally cooling peppermint oil provides a fresh and rejuvenating sensation on the lips, while an exclusive certified organic sunflower-based polyglyceride soothes, smoothes, and adds volume and definition to lips.
What we say: I tried Valentina (a orange poppy shade), as I felt I needed cheering-up with all the grey the skies had been offering in CT.

First off, I love the sleek packaging, and the mirror on the top of the cap is genius for quick application.
The texture is good too, creamy and silky, it went on very easily, although I would have preferred a slightly thinner bullet for more precise application.
The colour payoff was amazing – just as bright and vibrant as in the tube. It’s so creamy it felt like it might move and bleed, but didn’t.

I got a good 3 hours of colour out of it, and considering the texture I was quite pleased with this. And I was especially happy that it didn’t dry-out my lips. They felt soft and nourished once it had worn off, so they aren’t kidding about the ‘balm’ bit.
It’s available in 10 gorgeous shades, so if bright orange isn’t your thing (why not?), then there are 9 other options for you.
