Dermaceutic Milk Peel at Ageless Faces, R420.
What they say: A superficial lactic, glycolic and salicylic acid peel for fine lines, dull complexion and loss of tone. It restores a radiant complexion, stimulates the epidermis, helps to regulate oily skin and dilated pores, improves fine lines and wrinkles and with a course of treatments can even skin tone.
What I say: This treatment came about from my luke-warm feelings towards Dermaceutic’s Regen Ceutic Skin Recovery Cream that I tested for my July Radar. The company got hold of me to see if I would be interested in trying the product in conjunction with the peel. I was keen to give it a try, so I was booked into Ageless Faces in Claremont.
My therapist Lindsey started by thoroughly cleansing my face. Then the peel was applied for just 3 minutes before being rinsed off. I didn’t feel any discomfort with the peel was on my skin – although Lindsey was fanning my face vigorously to keep it cool.
Once I had a repairing cream and sun protection applied to my face, I was ready to go. I was literally in and out in 15 minutes. My skin looked slightly pink – like I’d been running, rather than burnt. I even popped into Cavendish to do some shopping afterwards.
3 days later I did have some light flaking around my mouth – I had been struggling with a few spot in that area for about a month. A week later my skin looked incredible. The spots had completely cleared, it was firmer and my pigmentation visible reduced.
I will definitely be back next month for another treatment – they recommend a course of about 6 to zap deeper pigmentation.
If you have dull, tried, stressed and uneven skin, I highly recommend you give this peel a try. It’s quick, non-invasive and gives results.
