Filorga ventures into makeup

I almost fainted when I saw this mail arrive in my inbox. The ride-or-die skincare range for many has finally launched the Flash-Nude makeup range.

Results-driven makeup was a natural progression for the active skincare brand. Think fresh looking finishes with a host of anti-aging benefits.

There are currently only two products in the range, both aimed at perfecting the complexion. Not only will you see the immediate results, they have been designed to improve the condition of the skin with continued use.

Flash-Nude Pro-Perfection Translucent Powder (R520) is a universal shade that mattifies and evens out the complexion while providing antioxidant protection.

It was designed to be worn alone to even out the skin, or over makeup to set and reduce shine.

I have dry skin so rarely reach for powders, as they tend to be cakey on my skin. But this one contains hydrating hyaluronic acid, making it hydrating and mattifying at the same time. The micro-silica in the formula is so imperceptibly fine that you cannot see it on the skin at all.

I’ve worn it both on it’s own and over foundation, and I was impressed with both. On it’s own, my skin just looked more even and had a healthy glow, and over makeup, it created an almost airbrushed effect.

I didn’t need to reapply during the day for either, but as I said, I have dry skin. Oiler skins may have to do a few touch ups.

It’s packaged in a gorgeous, soft touch black compact with a decent mirror in the lid.

Flash-Nude Pro-Perfection Tinted Fluid SPF30 (R520) is one of the best no-makeup makeup products I’ve ever tried. If you are into ‘your skin, but better’ makeup, then this is for you. If you lean towards total block out, full coverage, you’ll have to look elsewhere. I hate the feeling of full-coverage foundation on my skin, so this super hydrating formula is right up my street.

Excuse my pissed off expression and wet hair, it was very early in the morning and I had a teething two year old clinging to my leg. But, you can see the subtle difference between the two sides.

The formula offers some build-ability and works a treat at hiding dark marks and blemishes. My favourite feature, though, is the luminosity it offers. My skin has never looked this glowy without primers and highlighters. This is thanks to Filorga’s patented NCEF Polyrevitaising Formla that contains 50 active ingredients to stimulate cell growth. It is further enhanced by Hexylresorcinol, an ingredient that not only brightens, but also inhibits melanin synthesis, thus reducing pigmentation spots by up to 60% after 8 weeks of daily use.

And if all of this wasn’t enough, it has both UVA and UVB protection with the added benefit of antioxidant protection against pollution thanks to niacinaminde.

This is housed in a sturdy tube with a nozzle top. It makes for easy dispensing, and because it’s light, it’s great to have in your handbag or to travel with.

It sadly only comes in two shades at the moment, so darker skinned girls will have to wait to see if they launch any more.

If you’re in the market for natural-looking, effective makeup, the Flash-Nude range is definitely worth a look at. You’ll find the products at selected Edgars stores nationwide.
