Yeah, I know we’d all rather be eating chocolate each day throughout December, but this year, why not try something a little better, even beneficial for your skin?
Here are the beauty advent calendars that have caught my eye this year. Two of them (Cowshed and Jo Malone) aren’t in stock yet, but I have it on good authority that they are on their way, so keep an eye out.
I don’t think I’ve seen anything like this in Woolies before – I could be wrong, but it’s definitely the first year I’ve seen them.
The WBeauty 24 Days of Beautiful Advent Calendar (R1150) is a great mix of makeup, nails, fragrance and tools to satisfy all beauty junkies. There is also the WBeauty 12 Days of Beautiful Advent Calendar (R680) if you want a more affordable version.
The Clarins Holiday 12 Day Advent Calendar 2018 (R935) is the most skincare focused one in the list, as it houses a fairly even combination of skincare and makeup.
I simply just couldn’t decide which design from L’Occitane I preferred, so I’ve added both. They are the same price and both have a mix of body, hair and fragrance products, making these the ‘best for everyone’ calendars. They are great value for money, too.
L’Occitane Classic 24 Day Advent Calendar (R950, worth R1300) Designed by French fashion house, Castelbajac Paris, this bold calendar will brighten your mood each morning.
L’Occitane Joys of Provence 24 Days Advent Calendar (R950, worth R1300)
I’m pretty sure The Body Shop were the first to launch beauty advent calendars on our shores, and they remain a festive favourite. This year’s is 25 Days of The Enchanted Deluxe Advent Calendar (R1300) and contains a mix of body, makeup and tools packed in the most beautiful box. The 25 boxes transform into a picture puzzle at the end of the 25 days.
I’m so excited to see the Cowshed 24 Day Advent Calendar (R1970) in the flesh, as I saw last year’s one, and it was gorgeous. I love their products and is the one I’d buy for myself. It has a mix of 24 of their most loved body treats. Keep on eye on the Beautiful Age website for the arrival of stock.
Probably the most talked about calendar in the UK (second maybe only to the Liberty one), the Jo Malone Advent Calendar is always exquisite and always carries a price tag to match. It contains a combination of colognes, candles and body products. I don’t have the price of the 2018 one, but it retailed for £300 in the UK, so can only imagine that the SA price tag will be eye wateringly high considering the current state of the rand.
Which is your favourite?
