Birthday week giveaway: EyeCandy Brows

We’ve reached the last day of the week of giveaways, and this is a very special one! It’s sadly only for Cape Town based people, but it’s a goodie.

2017 brows

If you’ve been following me a while, you’ll know that nobody touches my brows except the team at EyeCandy Brows, and more specifically Simphiwe at the Cavendish branch. The darling Fahiema who is now at Tygervalley most days is also a genius when it comes to shaping brows.

I often get asked if I have had my brows micro bladed, but no, it’s just some Simphiwe threading magic. Granted, I only have one thick caterpillar brow if he doesn’t create two beautifully shaped ones!

2014 brows

I’ve been a loyal customer to EyeCandy for 6 or 7 years now, except for one very tragic visit to another salon when EyeCandy was in the process of moving from Woolworths to the current area in Carlton Hair Cavendish. I’m still recovering from the horrible tadpole brows the other salon gave me, so it was a good lesson in sticking with who you know, and I should have just driven to the Kloof Street branch. But you live and you learn (with tadpole brows).

I much prefer threading to waxing, as it not only gives a much sharper finish, it is also far gentler on the skin. I get pigmentation and breakouts if I wax my face, so threading is the only option for me. I most often get asked about the pain factor, and yes, it can hurt, but so does any other form of hair removal that pulls the hair out at the root. I’ve been having it done for so long that I hardly feel it anymore.

Simphiwe tinting my brows in 2016 for my wedding.

I currently have quite blonde hair, so I’m not currently tinting them, but when my hair is darker, I get him to tint them every few visits. This makes them look fuller and fluffier.

There are 3 branches in Cape Town, but Jozi girls can get in on the action, too at the Sandton City branch.

One lucky Cape Town based reader can win a brow thread and tint with one of the fabulous EyeCandy team, at the Cape Town branch of their choice (either Cavendish, Tygervalley or Kloof Sreet). To be in with a chance, head over and like the EyeCandy Brows Instagram page here, and then comment below with your Instagram handle so we know you’ve done it.

Entries close at 5pm on Thursday 30th May 2019. Open to Cape Town residents and only one entry per person will be counted. Good luck!
