Mother’s Day Gift Guide
I wasn’t going to do a Mother’s Day gift guide this year, but I’ve seen so may beautiful things, I couldn’t not share them.

I’m obsessed with the Sitting Pretty A/W19 collection, but this dress is my favourite. It’s versatile flattering and can be dressed up or down. The Cape Town based brand only uses ethical and environmentally friendly fibres.

Another local brand making waves in the slow fashion industry is Umhlanga based Sweetpeas. They create the most beautiful shoes, all hand made and 100% proudly South African. The new Moscow and Turkish Mules are incredible!

The Eastern patterns and colours on this throw will transport your mum to exotic climates, even in the depths of winter.

The Elizabeth Arden White Tea range has already reached icon status, and the new Wild Rose variant will just cement its footing in the fragrance world. It’s soft, delicate and smells of a wild rose garden.

Gisela Graham is the designer who creates Crabtree & Evelyn’s beautiful Christmas tree decorations every year, and now she’s created this beautiful bag for the brand. It’s called a Gardening bag, but I think it lends itself to holding body and hair care products, and even a hairdryer.

I’ve had a Cowshed diffuser in my lounge for over a year now, and it’s still going strong. The scents are beautiful and the quality is some of the best on the market. If your mum is into home scents, this is will make a wonderful addition to her home.

For skincare-obsessed mums, Avène has just launched a new anti-aging serum. It plumps and smoothes to combat the signs of ageing while hydrating and protecting the skin,

A picture is worth a thousand words. I’ve gifted my mum quite a few prints of the grandkids, our travels and other events, and she loves them all. These prints come ready-to-hang, so she won’t have to worry about framing or stretching it.

As winter approaches, our hair and skin needs a little extra protection and nourishment. This oil from Inoar contains 7 plant oils, along with Vitamin E to hydrate, nourish and protect hair, skin and nails.

This mask contains a rich formula that assists in providing long lasting cellular hydration and restoring skin moisture. It boosts the production of collagen and elastin, helping to rejuvenate the skin and decreasing the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Skin Creamery has just launched this beautiful hemp travel bag containing a 50ml Oil-Milk Cleansewr, 30ml Facial Hydrating Oil, 50ml The Everyday Eye Cream and Reusable Face Wipe. Perfect for her weekends away or work trips.

We’re huge FEAT. Sock Co. fans in our house. This local brand is our go-to for quirky gifts because it has such a huge selection of beautifully crafted socks and stockings. My husband has over 10 pairs, and wears them on repeat. This design is my current favourite, but browse their other designs on their website.

Cape Island is a brand I discovered at a gift fair a few years ago. I love the aesthetic and the fact that the scents are named after local spots and activities. The candles are beautiful quality, burn evenly and deliver lasting fragrance.

Thola Africa is a new website that curates a selection of fashion and décor, crafted exclusively by African artisans and designers, giving them a platform from which to market their products. These coasters will make a wonderful gift and are available in a bright colour way, too.

If I had to choose my favourite South African jewellery designer, Famke would definitely be in the top 3. Her designs are delicate and timeless, and are all made in her studio. I have several of her pieces, and think this necklace will make a beautiful addition to any collection.
