Philips Sonicare AirFloss, R1150
WHAT THEY SAY: With the revolutionary Philips Sonicare AirFloss cleaning between your teeth has never been as quick or easy. Simply point and press – Sonicare AirFloss jets a microburst of water and oxygen between the teeth at 72 km/h to effectively yet gently remove plaque and debris. It’s an ideal tool for adults and children, anyone who finds flossing cumbersome or too time-consuming. Available from dentists and Dis-Chem.
WHAT WE SAY: Seeing I was so impressed with the Sonicare Healthy White Toothbrush, I was incredible excited to try this Air Flosser.
For those of you who don’t know what they are, they are the best way to floss, ever. They shoot thin streams of water between your teeth, effectively washing away any debris and build-up between the teeth.
I have had my Panasonic DentaCare one for years, and use it every day. The Philips one is a bit smaller than my one, so was easier to use. If you balked when you saw the 72km/hr above, don’t worry, it’s insanely fast, but it doesn’t hurt or feel that bad at all. I’ve been using mine for so long, I forgot how awkward it was to use at first, but you soon get the hang of it, and although it sounds like it might damage your gums, it doesn’t.
My Panasonic one has a few more functions than the Philips, but is also quite a bit more expensive, so it’s expected. I think it’s a brilliant option for first timers. I wonder how many of you actually floss on a daily basis? I think this is a great alternative to traditional floss, and for those of you who hate flossing, it will get between even the tightest packed teeth, and for those of you who “don’t have time”, this will take less than a minute to do your whole mouth. Just start doing it, ok?
