Skin Renewal Facial
I had a tailor-made Facial at Skin Renewal.
This is an incredibly long over-due post about a facial I tried a few months ago. I popped down to Skin Renewal at the Cape Quarter (where the Hilton Spa used to be).
I had a regular Nimue facial (R425) with two add on’s. The facial itself was just like any other, and I can’t really tell you how good it was because I think that what really made the difference were the two additional treatments I had.
The first was Transdermal Mesotherapy that is mesotherapy without the needles. The other was Laser Genesis.
I am not going to try and explain either of the additional treatments, so read below from Skin Renewal’s site to get the gist:
Transdermal Mesotherapy uses FDA approved Dermoelectroporation ®, which utilizes the skin’s water based channels to promote transdermal delivery of drugs by a pulsed iontophoresis with “electroporation” or a continuous reversed polarity current. Dermoelectroporation ® also known as DEEP makes it possible for either micro molecules or macro molecules to be safely delivered into the body without neither modification of solution nor no damage to tissues and cells. Technology uses pulses that the patient’s skin can easily tolerate with no problems.
Laser Genesis works by gently heating the upper dermis well below your skin’s surface, Laser Genesis™ heats up the papillary dermis and stimulates collagen growth. In addition, Laser Genesis shrinks the micro blood vessels of the papillary dermis that reduces and improves diffuse redness. For redness the treatment results are often subtle. On average, you may require four to six treatments in order to achieve optimal results.
The Transdermal Mesotherapy didn’t hurt at all, and felt a lot like Guinot’s Hydradermie. The laser, on the other hand, was mildly uncomfortable. If you have ever had laser hair removal, you’ll deal with it no problem.
My skin was bit red after the treatment, but calmed-down after an hour or so. The days following, it seemed to glow more and more. And a week later it looked amazing! People were asking if I’d had a peel!
As each treatment is designed to suit your particular skin, you’ll need to get a quote from them before if you want to know the costs before you go. Visit their site for more info on their treatments.
