John Varvatos Artisan Pure

Whisk yourself away to the mountains of Xalapa with the notes of the new John Varvatos Artisan Pure. Located in the Veracruz region, Xalapa is home to cloud forests and volcanoes.

In contrast to his last scent, Artisan Blu, where the mood of the ocean had you yearning for beach bliss, this one takes you to a warm mountain retreat, where nature is very much in charge, and won’t let you forget where you fit in the grand scheme of things.

The top notes hints to the citrus groves with Spanish orange, Valencia orange and Calabrian bergamot. The heart is herbaceous with notes of orange flower, coffee tree flower, Italian Orris Absolute, jasmine, coriander seed and cardamom. The base is an earthy triumph of Tonka bean, Ambrette see, Angelica root, Orris, Primavera wood, and Texan and Virginian cedarwood.

This is my favourite John Varvatos scent so far, and while I’ve taken this one for myself, it will make the perfect Father’s Day gift. It’s available in 75ml EDT (R1240) and 125ml EDT (R1499) and you can get it online here.
